"A Mother's Love"
Wow, this is getting harder and harder to get the painting done by the deadline. I'm going to try to start another one today, so that I can be ahead of the game. This was a pleasure to paint, since I had the design sketch done from a year ago, and had always really liked the design of the piece. I am trying to limit the shapes in my paintings, and this one accomplishes that, I think. As I was painting it, I thought how much it reminded me of my 2 grandsons, so I had to add Brady's favorite stuffed animal, "Giraffey". By the way, being a grandparent is my favorite thing EVER!!!! Tomorrow, I'll paint a painting of my 2 granddaughters!
This painting is size 10.5" x 10.5" and is available for $125 plus shipping.
Karen...your creative energy is impressive...(but not sure about that Christmas tree!!!) these are great. I made a resolution to paint every day of 2013 following after your example....but already missed two days out of six. you go gal ellen roles
ReplyDeleteLove it again, Karen!!! Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteI like it a lot! You are whipping right along and you are right; it's really a challenge! Happy painting!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! I love the 30/30. Glad to meet you here!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sandy! This is fun, but very time consuming. Wish I was a couple of paintings ahead. How are you enjoying the challenge?
DeleteI did 2 paintings today, so now I can photograph and put together the posts - 2 at a time. I think it will be a real time saver. I'm enjoying the challenge. :-D
DeleteI really like the design of this one too! Love the contrast of the dark behind your figures and it read really well when I saw it as a thumbnail. Glad to get to know your work through the challenge! PS Do you have a Swedish background?
ReplyDeleteJust realized that I can reply to each comment on my blog, instead of just posting at the bottom to all. Let me know if you get this, Anette. No, I'm not of Swedish background, but my husband is Norwegian. I'm pretty much a mixture of everything, just like I paint!
DeleteThank you all! It's so fun to hear your feedback and know that I'm heading down the right path. No, Annette, I'm not of Swedish background, but my husband is Norwegian. I'm pretty much a mixture of everything, just like I paint!
ReplyDeleteWonderful style.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Working on #4 now. This one will take about 5 hours to complete. Yikes! Feel like I'm running a marathon, but loving it!
