"Happy Hour"
Wow, it feels so good to be done with my challenge painting by 4:30, instead of nearly midnight!
This painting is a redo of a subject that I painted a couple of years ago. This time, I used watercolor, whereas I used gouache last time, and the other change that I made was to use a square format this time.
I really like the simple shapes in this painting, plus I love patterns, so that was really fun to paint. This brings back such good memories of my time in Rapid City, SD, when the Northern Plains Watercolor Society hosted a wine tasting party on one of the evenings of my workshop. I loved teaching there, and am going back in August this year to teach "Painting People with Personality"; this includes everything from Crazy Ladies to paintings similar to this one. By the way, I learned how to use simple shapes from Donna Zagotta, an excellent instructor.
These are beautiful. It's nice to know you. This challenge has been wonderful for finding new art and new artist friends. Great Job
ReplyDeleteRandy, I love your paintings, especially the poppy field that you posted yesterday. I love reds, ever since I visited Sedona many years ago. Hey, I posted second on Jan. 17th! Yay!
