Day 3- 30 Paintings in 30 Days!

"A Mother's Love"
Wow, this is getting harder and harder to get the painting done by the deadline.  I'm going to try to start another one today, so that I can be ahead of the game.  This was a pleasure to paint, since I had the design sketch done from a year ago, and had always really liked the design of the piece.  I am trying to limit the shapes in my paintings, and this one accomplishes that, I think.  As I was painting it, I thought how much it reminded me of my 2 grandsons, so I had to add Brady's favorite stuffed animal, "Giraffey".  By the way, being a grandparent is my favorite thing EVER!!!!  Tomorrow, I'll paint a painting of my 2 granddaughters!
This painting is size 10.5" x 10.5" and is available for $125 plus shipping.

  5. I really like the design of this one too! Love the contrast of the dark behind your figures and it read really well when I saw it as a thumbnail. Glad to get to know your work through the challenge! PS Do you have a Swedish background?

    1. Just realized that I can reply to each comment on my blog, instead of just posting at the bottom to all. Let me know if you get this, Anette. No, I'm not of Swedish background, but my husband is Norwegian. I'm pretty much a mixture of everything, just like I paint!
